Sweet New *Sparkle Candles*
admin on Nov 19th 2008
Yay - yay - we have a new addition!
You can see it on our homepage - they’re new Sparkle Candles - and wow - they’re pretty sweet. A new twist on an old favorite - the palm wax pillar.
One of our long-time customers gave us the idea last year, and we ran with it. (thanks Matt!)
If you order a sparkle pillar, we’ll even throw in a matching sparkle tin.
Don’t just take my word for it, go check it out.
You had better hurry up though, these are only going to be here throught December 15th.
The Law of The Garbage Truck
admin on Nov 13th 2008
I loved this and thought I’d share..
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car
jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi
driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car
by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head
around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled
and waved at the guy; and I mean, he was really friendly.
So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined
your car and sent us to the hospital!’ This is when my taxi
driver taught me what I now call, ‘The Law of the Garbage
Truck.’
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run
around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and
full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a
place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t
take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move
on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at
work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage
trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the
morning with regrets, so…… ‘Love the people who treat you
right. Pray for the ones who don’t.’
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you
take it.
To Honor WWII Vet Roy Howerton
admin on Nov 12th 2008
The most important man in my life is my grandfather, Roy Howerton. He was born on July 27, 1918.
Last July he turned 90, two weeks after undergoing open heart surgery. That’s right, he’s a fighter! Always has been and always will. He is a WWII veteran, though he has never talked about it. Ever. All I know is that he was in the army, and FOUGHT in the war. I have always been curious as to what his story was, but was not going to ask, especially not now that he’s in his twilight years. I am very grateful to all our veterans who have fought to defend this great country that we live in. I am especially grateful to one.. thank you papa. Today, Caterpillars is dedicated to you.
